IFS Parts Mapper
A visual parts map for Internal Family Systems and other parts-work approaches. Add parts as you discover them, place them closer to or further from Self, and show protective and polarized relationships.
How to use it in session
- Add a part with a name, type and short note (what it does, what it fears).
- Drag parts to show their relationship to Self and to each other.
- Select a part and use “Connect to…” to show protection; connect the pair again to show polarization.
- Download the map as an image to keep in your records or share with your client.
Features
- Managers, firefighters, exiles and “not sure yet”
- Drag and drop on desktop and touch screens
- Protective (arrow) and polarized (dashed) connections
- Download as a high-resolution image
Safety and scope
Parts mapping can bring up strong feelings, especially around exiles. Go at your client’s pace and keep exile work for when there is enough Self-energy and safety.
